The back of this card says: "Rodeo Cowgirl Helen Bonham was selected to be Miss Wyoming at Cheyenne Frontier Days Silver Anniversary in 1917. "If it is for Wyoming, I'll do it gladly.," she said."
What do you bet the cowboys loved her.
A postcard a day, from a large collection of postcards received, sent to me by me, and/or collected over the last 30+ years.
I just stumbled upon your blog.
Your "About Me" section sounds just like me!
Would you like to swap postcards with me? As in, I send you a postcard from where I live and you send me a postcard in return?
If so, please send me an e-mail (I could not find your e-mail address listed on this blog). My e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org
Great card. Looks like it could have been straight out of an old black and white western.ReplyDelete
I love this postcard! I love old fashioned cowgirls - they must have been quite the renegade women!ReplyDelete
When asked as a little kid what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always answered "either a nurse or a cowgirl." It must have been images like this that gave me the cowgirl idea. Should have chased that dream a little harder...ReplyDelete
